truck lights
I was just wondering what people had for truck lights as far as being able to check tracks and what not in the dark. I been looking at getting a magnetic light to mound on top of the truck anyone have any good suppliers, or models taht they buy. I seen some magnetic lights that are 12 vlot 18 watt. dont know much about lights is that pretty good or is that not going to put out a whole lot of light. Any advice is greatly appreciataed.
Re: truck lights
you probably will need alot more then 18 watts. order a couple cheap off road lights or pick them up at a auto parts store or a big box type place and mount it to your bumper or dog box etc. running boards make a decent spot too. then just put the switch in the cab. the thing to work out is tracks don't show real well if the light angle is wrong. i've actually had the dull yellow lights show a track better in some circumstances then a high dollar bright white light. they can wash the track out by over lighting it. but on the up side you can never have to many lights if you spend much time off road or in remote areas after dark. just use a screen or protected location or they get crunched regularly. but a 45-60 watt should be bright enough depending on how you plan on using it and the beam design.

You want to remember how big your alternator is with big lites. Can cause guys to walk a LONG ways! The magnetic lites are handy and you can change highth easy.
