Alpha map card not working

I have two alpha units, my new map card works in one but not the other. I went through both units and all the settings are the same. Any ideas?

I would assume that the card is locked after the first use. That is how the map companies sell a card for each GPS instead of one card that could be copied and used for all the GPS's that a guy owns. I personally have never bought a loaded card, but use downloads and they are unit specific(I have to "unlock" each device to use the map, and each "unlock code" costs another subscription). I am assuming that the cards are the same as the downloads.

I download maps from http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/ and make my own cards for free.
The cards i made works in two of my alphas, my friends 320 and my brothers e-teck.
when i go to setup,map page, then map information. The four maps I have on my homemade card does not register on the unit. I have updated this unit twice with no luck.

Have you updated both units? I just bought Garmins new map for Idaho and it wouldn't work correctly until I updated my Alpha.

Thanks Scott and jcathunter,
I updated the unit for the third time, then reloaded the maps on the card while in the new alpha and it finally worked.

Good to hear. For some reason, I had to update mine a few times, as well. It would say it updated but, when I would look at the unit, it still had the old version. Eventually, after some bad words, pulled out hair, and a stiff drink, it worked.
