I think the bottom line here is, do what makes you comfortable and happy . I don't cat hunt, I hog hunt in south ms and we love to hunt the coastal marshes but you can only safely do it in the winter bc the gators are so bad. I for one have way to much time invested in these pot lickers to knowingly put one in that circumstance, accidents happen but I try to avoid it when possible, I live right where the hill country breaks off into the swamp and if it's been a dry yr I avoid hunting the swamps bc if waters low the all the game including predators congregate around wherever there's water. I don't let terrain dictate me hunting or not, I'm blessed to have access to lots of land so I go hunt elsewhere when those situations arise.
