Thanks for posting Skip! Sometimes no service and Good Races make it hard to keep in touch with you. JC will be the witness again tomorrow and don't text much, until it's over!!

jose is up this weekend
Thanks for the update.
Re: jose is up this weekend
I don't know about you guys but I think this contest is showing us that there sure is some nice cat minded strains of dogs out west. these hunts are all in coon, coyote, deer, elk infested areas and so far we haven't got on anything but cats. with mostly young dogs to boot. I for one, am impressed.
no mater if you think you can or you think you cant,, you are probably rite.

Re: jose is up this weekend
JC called and said that they only ran the one cat today. So General scores (1) !!!
He said that General cold trailed for 35min. and jumped and ran it for !5min., located and treed good. JC said, that General was a real nice dog and moved a cold trail real good and ran hard on the jump.
Looks like Tanner has done a great job with him!!!

Re: jose is up this weekend
AWESOME ! I thought it was a stroke of genius when JC decided to have a witness for all the contestants.I also thought it would severely limit the number of entries because it would take the imagination out of the hunt.I was pleasantly surprised to see there are some real deal cat hunters who we don't hear a lot about.A man who pays a $100 for a entry fee has probably got a dog that will tree a cat alone .I can't wait to hear about the next 5 hunters to see if Jc stays king on the mountain .
Re: jose is up this weekend
JC is as good as they come IMO, he has gave up alot of his personal hunting time to put this on. Dont know if he plans on doing it every year but if he does i think you would see some very low key cat hunters showing up witb some more exceptional cat dogs like have hunted this year. There are still some good ones to come yet this year and i have been keeping close tabs on one of them. He has been catching the crap out of em too! Lol

Re: jose is up this weekend
The work of that young hound hunted this weekend, sure shows if hounds have the ability they can do well when hunted on other critters than bobcat. Proud of Tanner & General, also proud to say General/s Damn was whelp at my kennel, from probably the last litter I will ever raise. General is also a grandson of Ryan Wawsec/s old Hank hound, General/s Dam also traces back to JC Freeman/s old loner hound, hounds belonging to George Justice & many others. All I know about his Sire is he had a shot of Biggerstaff breeding in him. Maybe, anyone with knowledge of the breeding behind General/s sire will fill us in? Al

Re: jose is up this weekend
sorry I haven't been posting much . I have had 7 hours sleep since 4 am Friday morning. This weekend was really fun . tanner and general are both classy. Maybe next year if I have this competition I will be entering general myself. (: The cats that general ran have been ran before and not caught. Let me say this one more time he turned 2 in august and is a real nice dog. I wish I owned a dog that moved a cold track like that. hint hint. I know your reading this tanner.
