Rigging box questions

Building a rig box and was wanting some opinions.Strike hole heights to the bottom of a 6 inch hole? Planning on making rack 18 inches tall. Thanks Bottom of the floor to bottom of the Hole?????

we put ours 14" to bottom of hole. they can stand and look straight out, and also clears the bed of my pick up. dogs are not cramped. i hae my rack 16" tall and works fine. i guess it up to you and your dogs
