Boy twist, of the walker breed that sounds like a deep well with pure cold water thats from the beginnings and it was kept pure too its roots and should cross (on & up) even if ya crossed Topper Again too a full lab gyp ! hahaha
If I cold live were I cold put a kennel run I`d want a pair of females out of that next made crossing your planning and I`d be pen raizeing em too mind and leash walk and then put them in the swims & draggs for pups at 1yrs old and at 17 months of age I`d be roading em mile after mile up hill and by day time. By 18 months old they would have a good padd, have lostthe rest of their babby fat an gained tone and I`d be hunten the pair of em on bobcat from then on and mtn lion ! I`d find some hunter with 1 good broke hound and I`d be hunten 3 days a week and gettem on tracks and tree up/ you have something comeing up that is rare & for a hunters hunter too raise and train-out and too be proud of/ I just hope anyone who has 1 top broke 5 yr old,6 yr old hound thinks about the value too his keeping something that has all the advantages of makeing top teer deck biggame hound dog power like these puppys are bred too be !?
It`s the pits for me, I live in a high rize apt. and down town oly and if I got on your list Id have too let em live in my apt. and sleep accrost my bed like an arrib bettwawine horse man do as arrabb horsemen ?! hahahaha
and I`m allmost convinceing my self intro it so I`m goen too finish watching the seattle marriners game befor I try and turn 40-50 again ! hahaha

Ofcourse Finly River Cheif by Shetler's Sonny Box and Bixler's Supreme Sally was on of the tru foundation stud dogs and line defining Treeing Walker studs of all times.
I liked the Finley River old time dogs a lot. They were not the fastest dogs in the woods, but they would trail a bad track, they would hunt rough cover, and they had big old bawl mouthes on most of them. They were good solid locaters and tree dogs but most of the early dogs were not the belly rubbing slobber slingers that some guys longed to see. Most of them were average in the grit department, but I certainly saw a lot gritteir strains of walkers such as the Merchants Banjo line which produced a lot of great bear and hog dogs. I liked the big square headed Finley River dogs they looked and sounded like hounds to me. Although there were some that made good cat dogs and bear dogs I personally felt their were better strains of walker dogs for this game. But that is just my opinion, and some families of these dogs were bred and selected for big game and did well. I had a grandson ajnd a grand daughter of Finley River Joe out of a dog I bought from John Monroe and they both made decent lion dogs.
