Lost another great cat hunter

Post by floridacathunter »

Just got word , my good friend, and a great cat hunter Ed Murphy has passed away. We spent many hours in the woods and enjoyed many good hunts. Ed was , in my opinion, one of the best cat hunters I ever hunted with. Ed was a good cow hand most all his life. Old friend, I hope you and old Pete, Cheif, Tom, and all them hard grinding little gyps are after one right now, up where the nights are cool, damp and still. And I hope them skeeters bills are made outta cotton! Keep them toughened up and I'll see you later.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. (Our loss). I wish I could have known him. It always makes me sad for us when all those stories and all that knowledge just slips away. I'm happy for him though. Blessings on you and his family.

Thank you, David it's hard to lose the good ones. Ed was as straight as an arrow and always let them old hounds do their own bragging. He always saw more good in the other mans hounds than in his own. A rare and great quality in a man. He will sure be missed, but thank the Lord we know where he is tonight. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. I enjoyed meeting you at Mr Clays service.

Mr. Murphy sounds like a great person and houndsmen. Wished I could meet all the good ones. The hound hunting community has been losing a lot of good ones in the last few years, so I'm sure he's in good company. Sorry for our loss. God bless.

I am sorry for your loss, l know by the things you say about him that he was a fine gentleman and someone I would have liked to have known. I enjoy our phone conversations, the time we've spent together, your friendship and generosity.
You need to come up and go with me again before the scrub closes, been having mostly fox running but had a jam-up cat race the other night till it turned the switch off on em. If we don't have a race at least we could watch dog butts through the windshield and shoot the bull.
Hope to see you soon,
Your friend.
