This episode will air on friday (8-5) @ 11:30 pm, saturday (8-6) at 12:30 pm and sunday (8-7) @ 6:00 pm

These are some photos from the hunt that will air this week. Photos were taken by William Russell. The first one is possibly the very best photo I have ever seen taken on a hog hunt. I hope you can tune into the show.

I saw it! I can't believe I actually was able to watch one of these shows. It was a blast.

Thank you for the information about how and when to watch it.

Those are some dogs! I guess there is probably no way to show in a short hunting show how much went into finding/breeding the right dogs and getting them working like clockwork. It was amazing and I would love to hear that man show and tell about his dogs for a couple hours.

Is it you, bump? Are those your dogs?

Maybe it is all trade secret. ?

Is it a hobby, or does he/(you) make a living at that?

Great job. Thanks again!

Those are Bump's dogs. I will try to get him to respond to your questions. I have always said that hog hunting can be described as mildly controlled chaos. Hunting with Rex, I will say that it is upgraded to semi-controlled chaos.

Good show Gary. Being an avid hog hunter myself, I know how chaos it gets in a hurry. I have seen a simple bay up turn western to many times.... Keep up the good work...

Hello David...thank you for the comments. Like any working dog there is a lot of time and work that goes into these dogs. For me...there is more time, money, emotions than any amount of money could ever repay. There are no secrets...a person needs a well bred dog and lots of time, resources and experience to expose your dogs to the game. Not all dogs will make the cut to do the job I prefer.

I am fortunate to have really good hunting dogs. My bulldogs are different. They are excellent at their job but have poor manners. I could have done a better job at their discipline...but I put up with their imperfections...because they are so good at catching.

Something that cant be shown on tv is the amount of work the hunting dogs do to bay up the hogs. Hunting these big ranches...we cast the dogs in big loops +/- 1/2 mile loops until they find hogs...Many times the hogs will travel miles after the dogs initial contact with the hogs. That sometimes takes hours because these hogs will travel long distances and run through difficult terrain in attempt to lose the dogs.

There is very little money to be made in hog hunting. I do this as a hobby. Glad you enjoyed the show.
