Roscoe is 13.5 months old an outstanding dog did outstanding on that race. At 13.5 months he is the closest I have seen yet in a hound that is exceptional on all species. He is a Walker Loose Bruce / Lipper.

Found this big tom track with some snow in it. Was a tough cold trail. Temperature in the single digits and Snowing heavily. About a mile race but took a couple hours. The cat skirted several traps luckily I only got one dog trapped. He didn't run popped right up on the jump. I had forgotten my scales that morning was hunting with Phil Soucy, and he wanted to use parts of it for taxidermy molds and he knew a guy with a certified scales, so he took the cat home to skin etc. His buddy with the the certified scale can only weigh to 30 lb. Phil weighed it on a digital scale and got 36 & 35 lb out of it, he took a video of weighing it has so far be unable to send it to me. I told him to go ahead and skin it and not worry about trying to find a bigger certified scale. I know to win the prize I need a certified weight but my understanding is the pot is currently pretty small so I have no problem forgoing the prize or the title of being the winner.

Yesterday was a great day where I was hunting. Snowed a foot in about 6 hours temperature stayed under 10 all day. Cats crossed all day. Had 4 races. Treed 2 lions and 2 Bobcats

Lets keep the entries coming.
Duane, you should scale that bobcat and get it entered! I'm thinking our club can forfeit the 60/40 payout to make this competition work for the benefit of all bobcat hunters. I will see too it the payout more matches the efforts required to win this competition, like me and my hounds, I don't know what I'm doing, just know FRTHC will do the right thing.
Marshall blew it by not entering. Marshall called and asked about the bobcat competition but never entered....Thanks for giving all of us a fighting chance Marshall!!!!! Lol!

I spent an amazing five days bobcat hunting with some true American Heroes under Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation and FRTHC members and their families. We were snowed or rained out most of the hunt but managed to get it done! I will post some pictures asap.

Jason and Dani Duby, owners of Plum Tree Hound supply have stepped up to make sure we have something to offer our 2nd-3 rd.-4th place winners. It might just be dog collar or tree tie leash, just know we will try our best to make your entry pay back.

This hunt was very special to all of us at FRTHC. We endured miserable hunting conditions, from excessive amounts of snow to freezing rain that made walking, driving and jumping cats very difficult for the hounds. I want to thank all of our US service members for their sacrifice to our great Nation and thank all of the members and supporters of FRTHC, without each and everyone of you? This hunt would not be possible! I posted this in the International bobcat competition section because several of our club members are entered and the bobcats treed all were around 20# each, none were large enough to win the copmpetition, but that's irrelevent! The memories made will last a lifetime and we are so proud to do this hunt as United Houndsmen giving back to those Men and Women who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we so cherish! Our vets were Chris Belcher from Oregon- Ramiro Flores from Idaho-Joe Liddell from Oregon and Associate Guide Derek VanBuren from Michigan. What a great bunch of men to hunt with!

Currently FRTHC is working on our next club event. I will post more as the hunt information comes available, we are looking at pushing the winter bobcat hunting as much as possible.

The plan is to award the winner of Decembers bobcat contest with 100% pay out from the entries, since there was so little interest in this competition. This way you will be cut a check closer to the worth of your investment.
I will be gone until after the New year bobcat hunting and will post Decembers winner right here when I return.

Yes Mark that is the famous Boomer hound! That son of a gun is a pretty damn good dog. That kemp hound has really helped my entire pack ! He is a hard going ,easy handling cat running son of a gun . And he just gets better every time. He is really adjusted to this dry snow environment . I know what good hounds are but sometimes they just leave you scratching your head in amazement ! and I think all of us houndsmen have done that when we were out with are hounds ( good or bad) WHat a RUSH !!!
