I have to agree on the females but the best and longest race that ended with a catch i have ever had was a tom around 20 lbs

I don't ever post but this Tom is worth sharing. 32# on a meat scale 2 days ago before he was skinned.

Nice cats petedog, looks like a large female too. Agree on average females can be harder to catch than toms, however have sure caught some toms that put up very good races. Also toms have out ran my & others dogs. Al

Nice cats Pete dog!

Yes I have had tough tom races too but on average females are tougher to catch than males in my country. One of my friends has been doing pretty good on bobcats with his dogs but got his ass handed to him twice by the same female. She survived the kill season so I am hoping to tie into her soon to see if my dogs are up to it.

Beebout it has been deadly on bobcats in his country this winter he is coming up here next weekend to hunt with me so I am concerned I might be sucking hind tit on races. Anybody know where I can purchase some white pepper?

Thanks Duane. That is a nice Tom you got as well. As you have reached your personal quota in 1 if you want to run some cats in eastern Montana let me know and we can have a go. Very challenging and they generally run like hell. Free cast a lot in snow or dry ground and hunt the terrain as looking for tracks in snow is limited. You have nice dogs as does your running partner with the bt's. I am sure you recognize my dogs as we camped next to each other in BC this spring. Kind regards. Steve

Steve, So that is who you are. Thanks for the invite. I drew a unit 100 lion permit so I am kinda concentrating on lions right now. Treed 3 toms today, 2 younger ones and 1 older one in the 125 lb range. My hunting partner told me I better shoot it as I won't find a bigger one in 100 but I will eat my 3rd lion tag before I dump out a 125 pounder.

Looks like Devon Miller's 29.80 pound bobcat wins the December contest. Devon, I'm gone hunting all week and will get your check in the mail when I get home. Congratulations.

As for the month of January, I have four paid entries total and will gladly pay out 100% to the first place winner. Let me know if you want to drop out if you are paid up, since we had so little interest, as it stands now, pretty good odds, one in four of winning the jackpot! We have three Oregon bobcat hunters and one from Colorado entered..... Good luck!

Well, we finally got good conditions here in the mountains of Colorado. Been putting up a few lions and got this nice bobcat today. I'm going to try to weigh in tomorrow.

Ridgerunners. Get it weighed. Post the weight hanging with your cat on the scale in the picture and post it here. Once complete, you officially are in first place, since no other bobcats have been weighed in for January!
Devon Miller, your check is in the mail!
Congratulations on taking first place for December.
February is wide open, a 25 pound bobcat could win first place. If you live in an area known for big bobcats, you could easily win if you enter, If you enter, If you enter!
