Hey Y’all one of my dogs is slobbering alot and her mouth is drooped open all the time. At first I thought she got stung in the mouth by a bee but now her eye is all gunky and a second dog of mine is having the same symptoms. I haven’t seen them get into anything. Any ideas are much appreciated.
Thank you.
Working on trying to upload a photo but it keeps telling me file is too large.

How old are they ? It could be a stroke.

4 and 5. Wasn’t thinking stroke. Was thinking something contagious. Since the second dog came down with it a day after the first dog.

They do run loose on our property. They could have got into something bad but, I haven't noticed them dragging anything to the place. They stay on our property.1bludawg wrote:Possible they ate something bad . Do they run loose? How is their appetites ? Check their temperature and stool .
They are having a hard time eating because of their mouths. Seem to drop the food out of their mouths non stop. They seem to want to eat, it's just a chore for them.
I do need to check stool and temperature.
Thank you much.

It's just a thought and not sure if you have It around your place but I had a dog get into a patch of stinging nettle. She had the same symptoms but got it good enough where she didn't even want to walk.If not stinging nettle maybe some other bad plant.

I've seen dogs with bad teeth and one with an abscess that acted similar to yours but it would be unusual in 2 dogs at the same time
. I'd look in their mouths( with flash light) for bad teeth ,cuts or something lodged in mouth.
If you have them stinging nettles are also a possibility as mentioned.

Thanks gents, I've checked there mouths and don't see anything obstructing or abscess's.
They seem a bit better today, been giving them oxytetracycline, seems to be bringing them around. We do have stinging nettle but, at this point I would have thought the effects would have worn off.
Y'all heard of Trigeminal Neuritis or had any issues with it? The symptoms seem to match.
