First Pup
Well I lust got home with my first pup. I am very excited. Been wanting to get into hounds for along time. Went with friends when I was still in school. She is an 11 week old blue tick out of Blue Mtn. Kennels in Libby Montana. She comes when I call her and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Its going to be fun training her. Hope I do her justice being my first pup.

hold on a sec, you said she comes when you call?
Must just be the animals i pick out that dont listen to me, i thought it was just the breed but apparently its me, lol.
Tell ya what though, a e-collar works wonders on getting the pup to resond to his name, not that you'll need it, but im also gonna try the collar out on the horse and see if he trains as easily as my pup did, lol.
BTW, good luck with the blue, what r ya gonna run her on?

congrats...
Then it will need a training collar, i just bought a three dog set up a few weeks and and they are awesome. No regrets here but when i started into this deal i didnt realize that i just got myself into the most expensive sport out there. Dogs, food, tracking system, shock collars, dog box, not to mention all the fuel.... but i still love it. Good luck bud

lol, Crazy the sport is only as expensive as you make it. Ive got a small fortune tied up in my off-road rig, my gun "collection", horse, and now the pup, out of it all the pups the least expensive, lol.
for a cheap 'used' collar try www.collarclinic.com
I got mine from them and its a new Tri-tronic classic 70 exp, dang this thing is my new best friend, well after my truck, dog, and hoss, lol.
I need to get a new pup though, i got mine when he was 7mons so i missed out on most of his cuteness when it woulda attracted the women, lol. That and i gotta build a pack somehow, lol.

Hey thanks for the lead on the collars I will check it out right now. About getting the old lady attached. I have been bugin mine to let me get hounds for awhile and she didn't really want me to but she is out of town so I guess I couldn't help myself. Just a little surprise. Now there is no turning back. She will fall in love with her when she sees her anyhow.
