The Longwalkers

Post by African »

After reading Slash Ranch hounds, Call of the hounds, Lion Tales and now recently The Longwalkers, which I found to have the best described stories and most honest feel.

As a South African it is interesting to pick up on the 'dry ground' VS snow competition as referred to in Lion Tales and I associate with the techniques, but admire the hardships extreme cold brings to the game.
It is excellent to know other hunters expect as much fit physical condition and mental endurance of themselves as they do of their hounds.

My hat off to Mr Lewis.
Thanks for the good read Sir.

Yup, an excellent account of one man's cat hunting adventures and genuine appreciation for the game he pursued. I enjoyed it.

I think it's a toss up. They're all pretty good reads. Especially Slash Ranch Hounds. If you are looking for lion tales. Here is the link.

It's a good book, as good as the others, I don't know, but then again I've read it several times over and I pick something up I missed the previous time I read it. Another book you might like is Bobcats Before Breakfast. It is written by a trapper and it is a good book too.

Hi Bill, I'm not sure where exactly where I got my copy. I did find these though.

When I first started the book, I thought it was gonna stink, but after the first couple of chapters it gets good.
