I appreciate your quick responses. Ultimately I want woods dogs that if I turn them out in a head and they come out the other side I can sleep at night knowing there ain't any hogs in that block. If I can come across another dog like that I'll take it no matter what breed or color it is. My best dog has been a papered catahoula that was more muscley than most of the Florida catahoulas you see on their sites, so I naturally have a thing for boxy catahoulas. But by far the best dogs I have hunted with were bred from generation to generation for hog hunting and the average jo schmo would have called them mutts, so breed doesn't matter as much as nose, silent, speed, size, age, stamina, behavior and willingness for a trial period. Once again I appreciate your responses and I should be back before next summer.
