Bad Hips

Post by Dogger »

I went out to feed the other night and one of my five year old dogs would'n't walk on his back right leg. I watched him for a few days and now he still won't walk on it very good. There is no swelling at all. I took him to the vet and he said he that his hip my be going out? Has anyone had this happen before?

What breed

What breed is your hound? This has become very comman amongs Redbones,This happens when people breed there hound when they are young,Of course there is no signs of problematic hips ect...Yet.But this may have been passed from his mother or father. All hounds before being bred should be X rayed for Hip displasia.Hopefully if more people spend the extra bucks we wont have problematic hounds. No chance of a pulled muscle???
