I had a staple gun then it ran out of staples :x , I use needle and thread now so I don't end up running out of staples again, I guess as long as you know it is full you would be ok packing it along.

Super glue fill up the whole and cut first with hydrogxide poroxide and flush out any infection and if therrs no puncture blood vaine then ya spry his inside wond full of blue note wound antisceptic and dry it and then shoot a shot of penstripp in the wound, now brake out that tube of super glue and fill up the cacity or cut filled by super glue/ pinch the oound held closed tightly as directed too make it stick and ceal up and after that apply superglue over the outside of the wound and let it dry/ do not let the dog lick it nor you get it on your body or hand ! Once its all dryed come back in 5 minutes too 120 minutes if yawish and redo the out side one last time/ it will hold for 2-3 weeks and cove off and the dog will of healed up/inside an out side real well !
I`ve done it on tuskers wholes too the chest were a pig hooled the dog and worked for me ! Billy Lynn told me about it and thatthey was useing it in England opperationg theators on people ! All of wich back then was true !

A lot of guys THINK they can stitch up a dog, but most would be much better off stapling them. I've seen numerous tail-gate stitch up jobs end up having to be brought in.

My advice is get some EMT gel, staple it up and keep an eye on it. Also, if you are putting on some sort of wound dressing, do your best to keep the dogs from licking it off. It doesn't take much "stuff" being in there for a wound to get infected.

I've alway doctored up my own dogs. I use a staple gun, and super glue. I'll staple up the cut then supper glue over the entire cut staples and all. I do leave open the lowest point of the cut, for a slight drain if needed.

Just in case I'm ever in a pinch and have to do a quick field patch up job, I always carry light weight first aid kit that has, scissors, claps, toe nail clippers, a small bottle of peroxide, a staple gun, a new tube of super glue, a small tube of neosporin, some paper towels, or toilet paper, and a roll of duct tape. If you hunt in khaki type pants with the side leg pockets, all this can be carried in one pocket.

that is important ---- dont forget that if using super glue -

-ive only used a few staples -- wow , they are fast -and definatly better than my sewing lol

just been to cheap to buy a staple gun lol
i do like sutures to get things in place when i i dont have help -

did you ever see tha ads for neosporin-- couple weeks ago i cut my finger---almost the whole length of it on inside---but not deep-- just bad enuff to be super irrittating - i didnt want to get it full of dirt -- lol
i washed it out best i could under faucet used neosporin and a bandaid --and in less than two days -----totally closed -- and now- i have to look close to see which finger it was -- lol made me think - i need to put some neosporin in dog kit :)
