I'm pumped for elk the day I'm leaving my elk hunt of the current year.
Sept 18-Oct.5 can't come soon enough !
San Juan eh? To you guys south of me thats equivalent to a Vancouver Island Roosevelt draw for us, pretty much a once in a life time draw.
Good luck, make 'er count.
I've read some AMAZING hunts on another site from that area and seen some AMAZING bulls photo'd.

I cant wait to get back out west. I went out there for the first time last year, actually went twice, and am hooked. I absolutely loved the country. Ended up shooting a small mulie but that was by far secondary to the hunt and just being in that beautiful country. Hopefully I can make it back out this year.

I never seen any big bulls during my time on the San Juan unit during the summer pursuit season this year.......thanks primarily to Tri-Tronics. I got invited down there for the fall bear hunt that is going on at the same time as your elk hunt Ike, so there is still a chance I can rig you one.
Tell you what, I'll rig you an elk if I can have the cape off of yours.........I was by myself and too far back in there to save the cape off the bull I killed on the Cache a couple years ago.
When are you headed down so I can start planning my schedule??
