Poison Oak Remities
Does anyone on here have any remities that work from preventing you from catching poison oak. With Bear season open in the foothills where the poison oak grows like crazy, I was just wanting some options. I have yet to find some cream or something over the counter that works very well.

Yep best to just learn what it looks like and go around it. If thats not possible because its all over or you shoot a bear in the middle of a big patch. Then wearing long pants and long sleeve shirt will help prevent getting the oils on the skin. When you get home toss those clothes in the washer and take a bath (with soap) right away, the longer the oils sit on the skin the more chance your going to get a rash.
If it is a long drive a change of cloths can help too, getting the oils away from the skin as fast as posible is very important. Also dogs going into the stuff can pick up the oils and then brush it off on your legs later. I have mine take a good swim when we get home after they run through a patch.

I don't know if you've tried it already, but there's an over the counter lotion called TECNU that's worked good for me.It can be used as a preventitive or after a rash has started. You'll still have it for a few days but dries it up pretty quick.I usually forget to put it on before I go out so I've never tried it as a preventitive.

its the oil in the plant that does it, wash the oil of right away, with like palmolive than the old indian remidy, get in the creek and get that fine mud right in the moss, rub it on and let it dry, once it dries get it off right away and repeat, the mud will draw the rest of the oil out, may need to rerpeat 2 or 3 times, this works for poison ivy as well
