McCain is a smart man and he knows what it takes to lead this country and turn things around!!! I said long before he even ran for a spot on the Presidential ballot that he should be our next President in 2008.

Remember EVERYONE needs to vote this election! Do not think your vote does not matter cause it matters more now than ever... I just hope everyone votes Republican.

Reports are that She is also a hunter....

From what I've read so far I would want her to swap out the President/ Vice President.. and I would be happy with her as the first Women president.. At least better than either of the two Choices today.

Regardless Mccain's campain is really starting to grow on me now. I think it's a good solid choice and I really hope it works for him.

On a side note I hope she can take the thunder away from all the Women Hillary lovers, and Be a Strong women figure without wanting to take our Guns and hunting rights away and liberal Agenda. ..

For the first time, I'm surprized and a little hopeful about a canidate..

Hands down a smarter move then Romney. She is a hockey mom, her one son is in the military, her husband works the oil rigs and a hunter to boot, that has to send a message to the working class.

She's bigtime conservative and a lifetime member of the NRA!! They just took the teeth out of their attack dog, Biden. He'll have to be extremely careful now during the V.P. debates or he'll have the women running in droves to the McCain/Palin ticket. On a plus note if McCain should suddenly drop dead we'll have the hottest leader in the world! :)

Palin's parents return from hunting trip to find out their daughter is GOP veep pick
By DAN JOLING | Associated Press Writer
12:45 PM EDT, August 29, 2008
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) _ If not for flooding at a remote creek, Chuck and Sally Heath might have found out by radio that their daughter, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, had been picked by John McCain to be his GOP running mate.

High water kept the Heaths from reaching their gold mine, which they use as a camp to hunt caribou.

They returned home, intending to drop in Friday at the Alaska State Fair, where their daughter was scheduled to take part in the ceremonial launch of the Alaska commemorative quarter.

Those plans went out the window with the announcement that Palin, a first-term governor, social conservative and new mother, had been thrust into the national spotlight by McCain.

"Holy cow. I'm just kind of speechless on the whole thing," said Chuck Heath, a former elementary school teacher, told The Associated Press.

In hindsight, he said Friday morning, he should have known something was up.

Alaska's first gentleman, Todd Palin, called him as he and Sally Heath drove to the remote camp behind Gunsight Mountain, 56 miles northeast of Palmer, which is well out of cell phone range.

"He didn't know we were going hunting," Heath said.

Todd Palin told him to listen to the radio.

"He said, 'Make sure you listen to the news from hunting camp.' I should have put two and two together," Heath said, because he knew McCain was going to make an announcement.

When they couldn't cross Caribou Creek on four-wheelers, they headed back to Wasilla and reached their home at midnight.

The phone rang at 4 a.m. Friday. A friend from Atlanta was on the line, noting the buzz that Palin was the McCain's likely vice presidential pick.

Heath said he tried Palin's various phone numbers and could not reach his daughter. That was a clear signal she had flown to Ohio to meet McCain.

"I would bet she's back there," Heath said before the announcement.

With only a few hours sleep, and with the phone ringing constantly at his home, he remained bemused by the commotion.

"I'd rather go moose hunting than be involved with politics," he said.

Obama has already started attacking her with statements of her lack of experience. That's kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.

I didn't know anything about her before today and the more I am learning about her the more I am liking her. I wasn't a McCain fan during the primary because he was to much of a moderate for me but she sounds more conservative .I think she will pull in more of the conservative voters that might have been thinking about staying home, That is a VERY good thing!

Funny thing is I never heard of Obama before this election either  Naturally they are gonna have to attack her in some way to pull some of her creditability but one thing they can not take away is her family represents the working class of this country

And not only is she a supporter of the right to bear arms – but she’s a life member of the NRA and an avid hunter and fishermen whose gubernatorial office couch is adorned with a massive Grizzly bear pelt.

I found this online somewehere pretty neat about the bear rug.

She is my new hero and a good roll model for our young girls today. Heck of a lot better than Paris Hilton, Brittney Spears and the whole lot of those floosies. She proves that everyday women can achieve greatness not by being an idiot, but by being a good wife and mother, having good family values, morals and standing true to your beliefs. I for one think every parent of a young girl should instill good old fashioned values in their child.

That is the change this country needs...... The liberals blame the conservatives, for messing up the country, and I am not a fan of Bush, but I am not talking the war in Iraq and all that foriegn stuff going on I am talking about us as a county. The liberals are the ones that are taking our good old fashioned values out of our country and making it a mad house with same sex marriages, trying to change our constitution, our rights to legally own firearms, abortion and too many others to list. Think about it. Why is it that the conservative states do not have the problems the liberal ones do? Here in Wyoming we do not have the gun violence that they do and yet the majority of the population here owns more than one firearm. hmmmmm makes you wonder doesn't it?

I think McCain/Palin is just what this country needs right now. He has the experience with the foreign policies and such and she has the exerience in what we need here at home. Sounds to me like the two together will be like a marriage made in heaven. ;)

Tessa,

I couldn't agree more. John has been regarded as a bit of a reagade and not a true Washington insider. ( Gotta love that). If you watched his discourse on the Saddle Mountain discussion he was brilliant.

Sarah will add a great deal to the ticket. She brings youth, home town values and intelligence. She brings with her also the actual life experience that most can only judge from the outside and comment on. He last child born with Down syndrome shows they integrity for life, love, and family values.

Yes this will be our winning team. Any hunter that does not get out and vote for these staunch defenders of the 2 Nd. Ammendmant to the Constitution should have their guns taken away.

Obama may try a bit to drag her thru the mud but he has to be very careful about attacking a woman if he hopes to retain some of the Hillary bakers votes.
