15-pup litter yesterday

Post by Gray Fox »

  Usually Leopard Cur litters are about 7-8 pups, at least the litters I have raised over the years. It is not unusual to get 3-5 pups. Every once-in-a-while I hear about a 10-pup litter, which is a good-sized litter for Leopards. In the past I have had 3 different 12-pup litters, but yesterday Slick shocked me by having 15! I knew she was going to have a big litter, but this was a big surprise. She is doing fine with them and they seem real active and healthy and all are about the same size. There are 4 black with tan pups and the rest are blue merle. :D

:D Machias, Nobody has made an offer on my house yet, so I may be here all season. It will be my luck that somone will buy it just as our "good" season opens  (translation...when we can run all our dogs on one tag, instead of having to have a tag for each dog.. ) The good part will open and somebody will buy it :( and I will be scrambling to get moved, instead of being able to enjoy hunting! :x I will be hunting as much as I can, and that's a lead-pipe cinch! :D
Doogie, I had her figured for the 16th and she whelped the 17th...close enough! Yes, I do certainly wish my vet for the past several years were still here, but he had to move somewhere that his wife could get special medical treatments. He did what he should have done and I don't blame him a bit. I am still looking for a new vet. I have tried 2 so far...no luck! :(

Sounds good, I should be down there the last week of Oct if you have the time and the room. :) And if you get that offer while I'm down there I'll help you move! Would love to see some photos when the pups get bigger.
