Freeze Brand

Post by MilkBone »

I'm looking to get some dogs branded. Anyone here do it or know someone that does in the Central Utah area?

Heck do it yourself it's no big deal. You get your brand made out of heavy gauge brass, make sure it will have enough spacing not to blot but heavy brass hold the cold better than steel can. Get that done , and do an archive search on this site or PM and I can walk you thru it in no time. Oh you might get scratched or peed on but it will be cheaper and more rewarding than getting some professional ( Ha!) to do it.

yeah mike is right but he left out pooped on....... ha. 99%pure alcohol and dry ice until the frost climbs up the handle of the iron. ears are best as a dog will always look at a source of noise .making it easier to spot a lost /stolen dog. i use black electrical tape . start with taping the mouth closed so a dog can not bite you . followed up by doing the same on both front and back legs than all you have to do is just like a huge salmon lay on top to keep the fish from flopping back into the water....you can p.m. me i will go into greater detail. don't be intimidated. years past we would brand 50 hounds a day for the clubs...

Thanks guys. I have been in the process of moving these past couple weeks. But in a week I should be ready. I'll definitely need your help.
