liver problems

Post by dukey »

i have a 6 year old bluetick and the vet told me she has elevated liver enzymes. so i had a x ray done but didnt show anything, so the vet said she probably has sirosis of the liver. her symptoms are she has lost 16 lbs in 3 months and quit eating for about 2 weeks. i am just wondering what can be done for her.

She could have gotten Lepto. It's very misdianosed.

But at this point, there probably isn't anything you can do. Once you notice symptoms of liver failure, they typically have lost at least 60% function of it.

You sure might want to suggest the lepto to the vet... given the right treatment she might pull thru.
a friend of mine had a female that was like that... she pulled thru after some treatments... I could give you the phone # of his son who is a vet and figured it out.

Lepto

They can get lepto from having a lot of rats around. One of my hounds just died from liver failure. There's not much they can do for them
