This sucks/ down for the season plus some

Post by Hunter »

Just as the season was fixing to get to my favorite part (the colder more pleasureable weather) I had to go and break my leg so bad that they had to drive a rod down threw my leg bone and screw it all together. I had been wearin my new pair of hunting boots breaking them in for my 6 day hunt next week. I had just told someone that I could climb a glass wall with them. I took half a dozen steps and turned and true to what I said the boot stuck as my leg turned snapping the small bone just above my ankle and then when I landed snapped the larger bone just below my knee. According to the doc I'm down for sure 3 months but most likely 6 months. I finally found someone that will take my 3 youngest dogs along when they go (that I trust) for me this year. Gosh this sucks.

Sorry to hear about your leg. Get well, and heal up.

That sucks. I'm healing up from a knee surgery myself, and it does suck just sitting around or watching someone else go after your dogs.

That sucks. Hope you get to feeling better. I hunted with cast on my wrist last winter and it was not very fun.

After reading the last post i remembered, a few years ago, i hunted with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on entire top of my foot and between my toes (that was the worst part). put a wool sock or two over the dressing cut the bottom off a flipflop and made a loose boot out of tape and trashbag. fixed myself up every morning. Still spent a lot of time in the truck but it was better than nothing.
