WE KO'ed him in round 2.
I am 90% certain this is the same hog that bayed and then pitched Rhino and put this in his vest:

This is almost over 1 month later.
We started him off the same feeder and he ran the same way through the highfence and then bayed. He ran about 800yards from looking on my new Garmin.

We stopped the truck 180yards from the bay started walking. We heard the bay dogs caught\trying and turned Pickle loose from 106yards out. When she hit we heard a squeal and a grunt and then silience agian.

Besides the great hog, I really like the bluetick with ya. It is always nice to see that other are also using blueticks to get it done.

That Bluetick is about 18-20mo old and belongs to my buddy. 3 months ago I didnt think he was worth the bullet to dispose of him.

IN that span he has flipped the switched and turned into a heck of a nice hog dog. He is not very gritty\rough but has a good nose and I got curs and Jagds that will run with him and stop them. It was fun watching him mature into a dog!

I have seen them both ways, but the ones I hunt are open. In fact, they are extremely vocal. I catch hogs. I don't think anyone can argue, in a small block with plenty of hogs, give me a silent mouth dog. It is an extreme advantage. That being said, where we hunt, there are big blocks, and not a lot of hogs in them. You have to have a dog with a great nose to get up on them. Again, it takes all kinds.

I remember from previous posts that you run open blues, I was just curious about that particular dog in longshot's pic.

I do believe that all else being equal, a silent dog will catch more game than an open one, in any country. The catch of course, is that all else is never equal, so it is an unprovable theory.

The Bluetick has a bad voice. He is open but it has to be a smokin hot track before he lets out anything. I think people that like open dogs would cull him......LOL
