OUTDOOR LIFE ARTCLE

Post by onalimb »

On page 12 in the Dec/Jan Outdoor life, in a section called "What's on your Mind" a man named Brad Semour from Mountain Home Idaho wrote a reply to a previous article, where someones dog had chased a deer. His article was titled, When Dogs Attack.
In it he writes. "Here in Idaho we could have shot those dogs and I would not have hesitated to do so"

I wrote an e-mail to the publisher, and informed them they had just printed something that was indeed illegal, You can not shoot a dog in Idaho as Mr. Semour wrote, and they published. It even states it in our game law pamphlet. I can't believe a national publication does no research on such matters. The e-mail address is, OLLetters@bonniercorp.com

onalimb that is ridiculus without a doubt,
I hope nobody's dog gets shot cuz ole Outdoor Life maybe in for some trouble with the way lawsuits go and all, might cost them some money down the road defending their butts, kinda like the beef(cattlemen) thing with Oprah W.

Alot of people read that magizine and take it as gospel.

You're right Jeff, most would think that is fact, beings it was published by a well known magazine.

I have posted this here and the Plott sites where I'm a member, but if anyone can put it on anyother hunting, or dog site it would help. Bird dogs, beagles, or general hunting sites, even the Kennel club sites if you have access, Thanks.

Thanks for posting, That is correct, private citizens can not shoot dogs. It has to be an officer, or someone that is authorized.
