I might need to clarify this and say does anyone have any recommendations on truck mounted radios and handheld together.

Most all brands are pretty good, I would stay away from the cheapo midland handhelds you find at wally world. I use both humminbird and uniden handhelds and have a lowerance in the rig. Just something to think about in the handhelds is look towards models that have both nicad pack and a normal battery pack, pushing 5 watts if your talking alot can eat up batterys so its nice to have a backup battery pack.

I'm not sure what classifies or makes a two way a "marine radio", but I run a icom truck mounted transceiver and use a yaseau handheld. The two work great together. The icom is 5 or 25 watts transmission power and the yaseu is is .5, 2.5 or watts and it works pretty good in thick rough country and it's water resistant, so I don't have to worry about sloshin my beer on it. :D
