Post by Luke J »

See all we needed was a little more snow to get things going good. Jake did you get that little guy this weekend? Eric, looks like you been travailing down south alittle. suprised we didnt run into each other as much driving as me and Scott did this past weekend. Great job. there sure is alot of females with young down there this year! Good job folks...

Three Tom's from this week

Post by 3bigelk »

Here are three different Toms from last week. The first two were caught the same day! The third one is a dandy.

Wow guys great pics!!!
Looks like I have some catching up to do. My old culls can only catch females and kittens, any of you guys got a dog for sale that can catch a tom? Yeah Luke we caught that kitten on sat. morning. I have never caught one that small before. It's probably hard to tell but it's just barely bigger than a house cat. I like to think that my dogs have to be better to smell the ones that leave such tiny tracks. Scott and Eric looks like your both getting after them. Keep up the good work. 3 big elk, nice toms.
I love it when you find one with a wrinkley old head. I wouldn't no much about those, haven't seen one like that in awhile. Keep em coming,

As long as they're out there's still a chance!

Rig,
I know all about dogs that smell small tracks! Last year we treed 15 females to start the year before we put a Tom up. I guess the law of averages catchs up with everyone sooner or later. :D We probably met our Tom qouta for the year and won't see another one all year!

bigelk,

Great job on them cats. Looks as if you are ahead of the game on the rest of us. Love the looks of those old Toms in trees. How do you do on the Bears each year on that side of the state? Do you ever make it down into Utah and run much?
