vet malpractice ?????
vet malpractice ?????
So I found out today that the vet that put bailey's pin in her leg used the wrong method of repair for the type of break she had, he did not take folllow up xrays and the thinking of the specialists that saw her today is that he created a larger problem when pounding in the pin. Now I am facing a $2500 surgery that has a 50/50 chance of working depending on the condition and location of the pieces whn the specialist goes in and starts to look around. If the proper procedure had been done in the first place reconstruction would have not been a problem. Anybody deal with or hear of how I can pursue this with the original vet??? He is not my normal vet, was hutning out of town when the injury occurred.

Good luck Pal,
After lawyers fees, interrogatories, expert witnesses,ect.,ect. - and I'd be suprised if it came in under $5,000.00 - upfront out of your pocket, 1 to 1 1/2 years in court, you might have a 50/50 chance at winning, depending on the "expertise" of the judge. Besides you probably signed something like a release before the surgery.
I'm not sure, but you might have a better chance of winning, if you took the money to Vegas. The modern court system is a farce!

Yea, u have zero chance of winning with our courts and the complete waste of your time, if you worked during those 1-1.5 yrs youd make more money than pursue the court stuff. And like tracker mentioned, more than likely, you signed a form, and whos to say the specialist isnt taking you for a run either? Ya just can trust anyone these days.

Moonshiner, how old are you??? Lots of experience with this sort of thing do ya??? the specialist is one of the most respected ortho surgeons in the western US. Don't think he's gonna BS anybody. The x-rays have been to Texas A&M, Washington State University, and another specialist in Missouri. They all have the same prognosis, are they taking me for a run as well??? Liontracker has a few valid points, but is a bit on the extreme end of things with his numbers. Who said anything about immediately suing anybody??? For your knowledge to help you not be so ignorant, the vet made it right with me. After reading your posts on here, seems like you know absolutely nothing about anything. Stick to trying to figure out which end of a dog the leash goes on after you figure out how to get the water out from behind your ears.

Well, in this sue happy world and the way you started out - I assumed ...- Shouldn't do that. Sounds like the original will step-up. Especially with all the evidence you have.

Re: vet malpractice ?????
You can contact the state vet and voice your concerns. The second vet most likley had a wreck to work with. I would think the first vet would work with you on cost since it was their screw up.

Your first you asked for input on what to do, then you lash out at people that give you input....

glomeli1, Please explain to me what positive actually helpful information moonshiner gave me??? Or perhaps you think I should appreciate non-productive negativity??? Perhaps he didn't realize that i was not talking about a pound dog.
