Furs-Help!!

Post by oregonhillbilly »

I have no heat in my shop to dry my furs. What can i do to get them dry?Can i freeze them for long durations until the warm weather gets here?If so how long will they last in the freezer? Is there any other way to dry them?I know this sounds stupid but I want to get them dry so I can tan them myself. And NO bringing them in the house is not an option unless the girlfriend leaves town for a few days.
Thanks for any suggestions.

If you did a good job fleshing them they will freeze dry and keep for a long time.

Flesh them out and then roll and freeze them fur side out. You can also salt them after you flesh them out and lay them flat to dry. They will keep until you are ready to tan them.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.I hate not having the shop of my dreams but that would take money away from the cause of hunting. We all have our priorities!
Thanks,
