Puppy Question

Post by Brady Davis »

Hey guys...I am getting a couple of pups here soon. They are 6 weeks to the day today (saturday) and it looks like my work schedule will be crazy in a couple weeks. Do you guys think it is OK to pick them up on Tuesday,,,so they would be 6 1/2 weeks old...They will have had 1st shots and wormers (got them today actually)...

I don't wanna jepordize the pups but if 6 1/2 weeks is alright it would be mighty convenient for me to make the 1000 mile roundtrip to pick them up...

Let me know...

I can't see where it would be a problem if they have been conditioned to eat soaked food. Most pups by 5 weeks or so are ready to dive into a plate of mushed up dog kibble with a little milk sup. Mix. in it and they really get after it. Remember they are use to eating anytime they want from Momma so you will have to feed them at four hor intervals for a few weeks and then you can stretch it out a bit. Remember to follow up that first 4 way shot with another two weeks after and another two weeks after that and then go to the 7 way shots.

Good luck with them.

Yes Colorado, it sounds like Mike already has you fixed up on the pups. So tell us about them, bloodline, where did you have to go get them, etc.?? And good luck with those little guys or gals, cause pups are fun.

My vet tells me to give 5 way for the first 12 weeks then on the 15th week give a 7 way. Mike had said he was giving 4 ways and I have never heard of a 4 way so I was wondering if they made a 4 way and he was giving a parvo shot seperate which would be equivelant to a 5 way
