WA State set to outlaw more hounding

Post by Machias »

We lost bears, bobcats and lions due to ballot box initiatives in 1996. Due to public outcry and the counties set to take matters into their own hands they have brought back some very limited lion hunting. Now without any Voter Initiative and No fricken scientific reasoning the WA State Fish and Game Dept is set to outlaw coyote hunting with dogs.

Flatly stated, you had far too many people move in from California. This is just the tip of the hounddog nightmare. The wheels are in motion and if we let it pick up too much steam, we will be in the same boat as the pitbull fanciers.

The reason they are trying to outlaw it is because very few guys run coyotes in washington, but many say they are out hunting them. This rule was brought about by enforcement, so they can harass anyone out in the woods with hounds. You can still raccoon hunt but the season starts sept 1. Coyotes where open year around so you can have your dogs in the woods or even do some roading. I will guarantee you if this goes through someone will get a ticket for roading their dogs if its not sept 1-march 31. Washington says if the dogs are unleashed they are hunting so be ready for a ticket if your dogs are unsnapped, even if your just roading them for exercise!!!

Folks,
Hunting season is wrapping up. I ask each and everyone of you to get involved with these issues, Not only in WA, but every issue.

I would like to fill in as much information as we can about these individuals. (ESPECIALLY PHONE NUMBERS!!!) Any Phone numbers or Mailing Addresses you can get, I want to be able to make a contact list so that we can all call and let them know that this is not ok, and we do not support this.

If you would like to annomously PM me, or email me at info@biggamehoundsmen.com If you have any information I will not Disclose who sent it to me, I will keep your information annoymous.

Or you can also mail me any information you have annoymously at

PO BOX 288
yacolt, WA 98675

This rule is not worth their time to deal with. We don't want these people ignoring us about this.

I really hate to bother these fine individuals, But They have a Job to do. Hunting Laws and regualtions should not be based on what is or isn't socially acceptable in Seattle, and major cities. They should use Sound managment Practices.

Let's build a cheat sheet, and Put some pressure on them to strike this proposal. If only because they get tired of recieving Phone calls...

Remember this is not an Issue that is worth their time to deal with. If we make it easy, they will pass it, If we make it painful they will look for the easiest route to stop it.

Here are the folks that we will need to call..Please Be polite and respectful, Let them know that we don't approve this. But take up a few minutes of their time. Let them know that you hate wasting thier time for this stupid Rule.

(NOT EMAIL PHONE Calls. , Leave messages until they return you phone call.)

I would still call the other folks listed before as well. I'm sure some other 'person' up there will think it's agood idea to keep the proposal going and it will end up with them still.

If thats the case then why can we still run coyotes with dogs in California? Year round in most areas. Good luck with your fight guys, I hope it works out for you.
