Re: best breed for bear
I thought I had the wrong definition of courage so I looked it up.
Courage:
A willingness to face and deal with danger, trouble, or pain; feerlessness; bravery; valor, also see Plott Hound
Go figure

THE TOP THREE REASONS MOST PEOPLE HAVE A PLOTT IN THE PACK
3. You can always blame that hard headed plott on the trash race that just happened
2. You appreciate the rest of your dogs so much more
1. when you load up and go hunting with one of your friends that runs all plotts you have
one dog that doesn't get stretched in the dog box

Re: best breed for bear
i have seen fighters in all breeds, not sure why everyone is pinning it on one breed or the other, maybe plotts fight harder then other breeds but i cant say they instigate more fights then a walker, black or blue dog,or english etc. i dont think its the dogs to blame its the handlers. JMO oh and PS. anyone who wants to put their dog in my box is more then welcome, if my dogs start a fight and hurt your dog, il pay you what i owe and you can shoot every one of my dogs that tore a strip off your dog. Between me and my hunting partners we have 19 dogs, we can mix dogs in the box and put in new dogs without a word, they are all plotts and gritty plotts at that, last august we had dogs of every shape size and colour in the boxes with our plotts without a fight or il gestures, so guys come on stop bullshiting yourselves and stop trying to pin all the problems in the hound hunting world on one breed, your only fooling yourself.

as long as they do the job i dont care what color they are. right now i have plotts walkers and a b&t redbone cross. have had good luck with blue and red dogs in the past. dont matter what they are as long as they do the job ill keep following them to the tree and every now and then kick their ass off a moose deer elk or whatever they trash on. and my plotts havent picked a fight with other dogs any more than any other dog ive had. in my opinion the owner has as much to do with that as anything else but ive been wrong before. and im sure as time goes on ill go from mostly plotts to whatever i find that does the job be it white blue red or b&t. happy hunting to yall no matter what ya run just keep em running and treeing and well see ya in the woods.

wow its like a plott anarchy ha ha ha honestly my plott is the least hard headed dog i have head i growl at him and thats it hes done my blue tick good luck along with my walker english and black and tan i (had) now if you are refering to hard headed as a plott that wont stop what he starts until he has a mouth full of fur then mine is hard headed if i turn him on somethin he ain't comin back unless i catch him or he has a mouth full of fur and good luck on catchin him
