Smiley, Thanks for the info on the skis. right now the snowshoes are working alright so till i need to ski i'll stick with the snowshoes.

Hillbilly, we went out this morning and i put fifty miles on the pickup without a single track  we swapped rigs and went to a different area where we cut two tracks we turned on the freshest one and about a mile up all hell broke loose we think the dogs winded them but anyways we ended up with two kittens and a female up three different trees the kittens wieghed aprx. 50 lbs i'm not exactly sure what happened but the kittens were in a hollow log and dogs jumped them out..???? Would the female have left them in there while she went hunting because we turned on a single track????

hounder, that is usually what the females do. Often I have found where the kittens were left under a log, rock or over hanging bank when the mothers out hunting. The female is usually not to far a way, it seems like less then 1/2 a mile. Congrats on your catch.

Keep roading dogs when no snow is the thing to do. we finally got a couple inches of snow been a couple weeks since last snow but keeping the dogs in shape is a plus. cought a good bobcat today and hounds never missed a beat because of being shape, it will be good tomarrow also.
The home of TOPPER AGAIN bred biggame hounds.

Hillbilly, what do you have for snow up in your area. We have a little bit in the kootenays, but its hard as heck and we haven't had fresh snow since the 5th of january. its getting a little depressing here :(

We have about eight inches. Any roads , trails or open ridges are either hard as a side walk or bared right off. No snow in the forcast for the next 5 days at least.
