well it takes a certain type of person and personality to do it but corrections seems to be always looking for people and well we all k now that the clientell will always keep prisons and jails open. i dont know how it is in your state or any other states out there but here in maine they are still hiring people at the state prison. speaking from expierence though its pretty damn stressfull and ive thought about quiting a few times but its a secure job. good luck.
