gps systems

those of you with gps tracking systems how fast do your dogs run. i was just wanting to compare my dogs with yours to see how slow mine are

well mainly on hogs is what im talking about but. i realize that not many of you run them so what about bear? or a jumped lion? mine average about 6 mph running through thick brush and swimming in florida on a jumped hog

Your deer must have lots of brush to contend with as these desert mulies hit around 40 and maintain that for a 100 miles:)

what kind of gps systems do you guys use they sound neat but just getting so i can run my cell phone and it took me 25 min to type this simplicty is needed here

The only one out there right now that I know of is the Garmin Astro. There are a couple more in the works but not released yet.

wow 6mph do you catch a lot of hogs.Does seem slow but you are catching.How long is the adverage chase.You are running blue ticks right.Want to bring a atro tho maine to see how fast the dogs run bear up there.Also want to put it on my pits to see how fast they run whe they run down a hog that breaks ,Will get one soon.,

gps brings a whole new meaning to "miles" and miles per hour


ive learned that 2 miles--- may be . 38 :D depending on terrain and cover

where the dogs do 6 mph==== check your own speed , with gps
when the tailgate drops

Yeah, thats right Pete. The GPS calculates the speed on a flat map, not the terrain. You can even get the information that the dog is bayed up 300 feet away, but it'll take you 30 minutes for you to get there.

Had a 15 minute race that went right at 2 miles. Average speed was 8 mph. Top speed was about 21 mph when the hog hit the open field. The hog finally bayed 300 yards from where he started.

I am overlaying all my hunts on goggle as well.
