Hello from NW Oregon
Hello everyone. I have been reading this forum for a little while now and would like to get into the hound hunting. Looks like alot of fun. I live in NW Oregon and am trying to research and decide on which breed to get into. I would be only wanting to go after bobcats and maybe be able to travel on occasion to chase lions out of state. Right now I'm leaning towards trying to find a walker pup. Sounds like one with some old Nance in her. Again this is all based on what I have picked up from this site and hear say, and I know I still have alot to learn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey welcome to the site.
Although it is exciting to pick a pup to start your hunting career off........I think it is a better decision to buy a GOOD older dog to hunt with then get a pup. A good older dog will teach you as much about hunting as any man will.
Just be careful if you buy a good older dog, as it will not be cheap and there are people out there that will take advantage of a new hunter.
Just my outlook on the subject.....
