Pics for Travis . . . .

Postby Poundhound » Tue Mar 10, 2009 12:41 am

Here are a few pictures from late last night.

This was probably my fastest tree ever. When I turned dogs out they lit outta there with their nose to the wind and seems like two or three minutes later the dogs were treed.

Rock on the wood.

This is Timber at the tree. If I understand where he comes from correctly, he is a nephew to Rock and a brother to my new Vindetta female that I got from Ryan. It is not very easy to get a pic of Timber or Vindetta on the tree. They just don't stand still at the tree, they are soooo excited that they are movin' and shakin' and barkin' all around that tree waiting for the fur to fall. Good voices on these dogs for sure.

Timber again - on the left. My dog on the right.

Rock again - sitting down and choppin' away.

And finally, they got their reward. A little bit of chew time.

Enjoy the pictures, I sure enjoyed being there to take 'em.

update, last night travis qualified his rock dog! smoked his cast. i volunteered to guide a cast for marys peak hound club. we had three, three dog cast entered.i picked some tough coast brush country to hunt.i would like to be the first to congratulate travis and rock for a job well done! travis also pulled off a first place on the bench with his little female. you get out what you put into the sport.travis has dedicated the time and energy to excel. however the biggest part of the deal is having the right dog to get the job done. i'm not into competition hunting. so it was good to see and visit with jerry ray, bobby baker, curt wilcox.these gentlemen also spend countless hours of dedication to the club to make it all happen. thanks guys for inviting me for a fun filled evening. mike martell

That is good news for sure. Glad to hear it.

When Travis picked up Rock and Timber here Thursday night we loaded dogs up and went for a quick hunt. And the dogs Travis had made short work of the coons for sure. We made one cast and got to listen to a great race. In the end we had two coons in one tree. That little dog Travis had, Mona was her name I think, She is at the tree taking care of business then Travis tells me it is her first time to the woods. Amazing.

I have some photos that I took that night, and when I got a little more time I will put them on here for everyone to enjoy.

Congrats Travis, and Way To Go Rock.

Mike thanks for the kind words and thanks again for guiding. It truly is amazing to witness what some people will settle for and convince themselves that they are totally OK with it,whether its coons, cats or bear.

Rob thanks again for the tuneups,I know it took away time from your own dogs and it is very much appreciated.

Travis;
Here they are ! ! ! ! I told you I would get these pics up, and I apologize for it taking so very long. I don't need to tell you excuses, as you know what I have been dealing with. As it turns out I got a few pics of Jenny as she seems to be kind of a camera hog and everywhere I point the camera BAM there she is. Mona isn't too much unlike Timber and Vindetta, pretty hard to get a pic of as they don't spend much time in one spot at the tree. But I managed to get her in one pic with . . . You guessed it JENNY in the foreground. :D :D

I think I got a handle on who is who, as it was the first time I ever hunted with these great looking Walkers. I will try my best not to mix them up, and Travis feel free to set me straight if I get one wrong. This one is Jenny at the tree. This was an incredible race to listen to on a Crystal Clear night when the music of those dogs would carry forever.

Jenny again

I think this is Jenny again, tough to tell with the front on angle, but looking at the collars it looks like the ones Jenny was wearing. Blame the pic on the retarded camera man, hard to find good help these days I tell ya.

Jenny close to camera, Mona is broadside behind Jenny. Travis tells me that this was her first night in the coon woods, I was impressed - she did well. If I thought my wife would have let me continue to call her house my home, I would have been beggin Travis to sell me Mona just on her performance on this night.

You have seen the dogs, now meet the Legend. Just Kidding Travis. Every once in a while in the swamps and cedar stands of the Pacific Northwest we are able to get a rare sighting like this and never before has the legendary BIGFOOT been caught on tape until now.

Again Travis, I really enjoyed the time in the woods we spent together. With all that has happened since that night, it still brings a smile to my lips when I remember that clear night and one of those little female dogs squeelin' for all she was worth getting her lip tugged on a little bit, but then getting right back in there after that. GOTTA LOVE THIS GAME ! ! ! ! !
