New Cat hunting sections

Post by Buddyw »

I've been asked about Cat hunting and having it broken up into some different catagories.

Seams there are many different ways to skin a cat..

What's your opinion on this. Creating Sub Catagories, Bobcat, Lion..
or Dry Ground, Snow, Running dogs..

Here is your chance to change up the Cat hunting Area and make some minor changes..

Let's hear you thoughts. buddy

That's a pretty hard decision for me, hah. Either way would work out pretty well and I think sometimes I would prefer one and sometimes the other... I'm going to have to cast my vote for the Dry ground, Snow, Running dogs, etc....

I think if you broke it into Lion and Bobcat since you hunt each differently, and then a subsection under each of those to indicate dry ground or snow.

I'd have to second tman's vote. His idea seems to make a lot of sense to me.

lets just divide ourselfs even more Northern hunters vs. Southern hunters

if anyone remembers the old shadetree, the same things started (asking for small donations to help mantain the place, trying to seperate snow hunters vs. dirt hunters) and everyone threw a FIT. Ol Bruce would be spinning in his grave, the way these things are meet with open arms now

rest in peace amigo

Buddy,
My advice is worth exactly what you are going to pay for it.. NOTHING.. But, if it were up to me I would leave well enough alone. It doesn't take 3 or 4 hours to catch up on the cat forum as it is.. I don't think the present amount of posting traffic would justify all the new divisions being considered..

One thing I have noticed too is this.. If someone makes a post, and the rest of the guys think it would be more appropriate somewhere else, then we have another big blow-up.. Division is still division, and we need more to bring us together, not drive wedges inbetween us.. plenty of that from everywhere else...

Katt hunters is Katt hunters.. We all have more in common than we do that separates us.. Do as you will, it is your site.. but the view from here looks like we are doing just fine as we are.. KattSkratch..

Doogie..

First off, Let's not throw me under the short Leopard bus.. :D :) I don't really care one way or another, I'll just make it happen / or not.

My two cents.. I'm a Wanna Be Cat hunter.. But I wanna be a Good one that can cat hunt anywhere (probably just a Pipe Dream I know!) .. but if I happen to be down in AZ you can bet I'll have my dogs, and I'll be out trying to catch a cat down there... Same as if I'm in the northern snow, rain, Sleet or what ever..

So it's nothing personal with me.. My Vote is to keep it the same, At most break off the Bobcat, from Lions because they just don't run the same. But I thought about that in the begining and didn't do it then either..

But if I'm going to change anything I like to ask and see what you guys all say..

I Don't like to Vote, because I don't want to influence anyones opinion. So when I ask a question, Don't beat me up... I'm just trying to find which direction to steer this ship..

Just like that Google search question, I really don't care I just want to see what everyone else has to say about it...

So keep the comments coming.

Doesn't matter how many sections there are to me. When I log on, all I do is hit the "View new Posts" link and I see whats been posted. Everything comes up that is new. If I don't have any interest, then I don't read it. I figured this is how everyone does it. Are there really guys out there that click on each section?

Mr. Buddy,

This from a absolute newby and with that same expensive opinion already so eloquiently expressed (probably worthless).

This is the BEST website for Cathunters, Long Tailed or Short, out there!

I spend lots of time on Speeddog because we know lots of those guys back east and hunt more like them than snowbound bocat hunters. However I have found more useful information here and really enjoy the dialog estblished on the various threads.

As already expressed I check new postings first and am about up to date on your old topics (it has been raining and nothing else to do). Your variety and break down of topics is vary easy to navigate and the diversity of topis just fit our pistol! Bobcat Hunting, Mule Riding, Big Game Hunting, Legislative News, this is great.

For my two cents worth if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Am trying to get the FL, GA, and Carolina Bobcat/Fox Hunters to come on over.

Again LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!!!!!

PS Dereke is a great recruiter for the site!!!!!!!!

Buddy, I'm with you I would like to have dogs that can run anywhere. For now I'll keep building. The site is easy enough to navigate thrue right now and is there realy some great diffrence between how we hunt and raise our dogs north or south of some line I dought it. Infact I would asume most of us have dogs that will do a little of both. Do I wish I had mike leonards dogs or jeff allens or warner glens or ike's shure why not but I'll get there. I like this forum just how it is. thanks for having it James G. Moore

I think you should leave it the way it is. I do like fullcry and just hit the view new post button. Plus it just sound like more work for you. AS was already said, if it aint broke don't fix it.

I'd say have a seperate section for the short tails (Bobbers and Lynx) and leave it at that. JMO
