NCTA UKC March 20-22, 2009 (confirmed)

Nor-Cal Treehound Assoc's first UKC event of the year will be held March 20, 21 and 22 at our same club grounds in Oroville/Honcut. The schedule will be:

Friday March 20: Poor Boy Nite Hunt --- 8 pm deadline --- $15 entry

Saturday March 21: Bench Show --- 1 pm deadline --- $10 entry
Field Trial --- 3 pm deadline --- $10 entry
Nite Hunt --- 7 pm deadline --- $15 entry

Sunday March 22: Bench Show --- 12 pm deadline --- $10 entry
Field Trial --- 2 pm deadline --- $10 entry

Make sure you read your new rulebook as several rules and breed standards have changed as of January 1st!!
One rule change that will effect our Field Trials (and Water Races) is now there's a max of 4 dogs in each heat. That means we will probably be running a few semi-finals this year, in which case you don't earn any points in the heats; just in the semis and the final. It will also take us longer to run these events.
Another change that our club will probably take advantage of is the option for us to use a Master of Hounds *or* a Hunt Director for regular hunts. If you know the Nite Hunt rules fairly well, we may ask you if you'd like to be a Hunt Director for one hunt this year. Or you're more than welcome to volunteer.
If you're going to hunt, make sure you know the Nite Hunt rule changes!!!

Soda and water for sale. Free coffee in the evenings.
Motels and restaurants in the area. Camping on the grounds (no hookups, bring your own water).

RESULTS FROM THIS WEEKEND

Thank you everybody who came out this weekend and participated and helped us out! Everything went really smoothly and I think everyone had a good time! We got sprinkled on a little, but didn't have any serious rain until Saturday evening. As Cassandra mentioned, the one brave cast that went out Sat night drove far enough away to be out of the rain.

I don't think I could look any better in those pictures.
Even caught with a BOODOG.

I gotta give you credit for that pic of all my dogs in the Sat finals. Thats a really nice pic!! I'll have to have a copy of that one! Hopefully Travis see's how well ol' Popeye is doing, he looked "offical" in that pic. We won't talk about his romp in the orchard in the first heat though, or how he missed the stakes on Sun.

Fair enough! And I won't talk about how both FCh's missed the line Sunday....costing Casey the win that would have finished her to Grand.....!!!! Just goes to prove it's never a sure thing!
I was proud of our Rosie tho' since she's never been in a field trial before.....or run a drag.....or even treed a coon yet, for that matter. With a little conditioning and practice, she has the potential to be at least as fast as Casey.

I thought that was a pretty cool pic of the final heat on Saturday. You can right-click it off of here, right?

Okay people, come out next month and give Cassandra a run for the winner's circle so she doesn't have to be in every picture!!!!!!
