Help with California Youth Event - Ideas & Donations

Nor-Cal Treehound Assn is going to be holding and "Open" youth event.

We are planning on holding a bench show, field trial, and water race.

We were wondering how other people put on there kids events.

What are the age breakdowns? How do you determine winners?

In the shows its a little easier to judge based on handling.
But how do you judge them in the trials and races?

A 4 year old can't handle a dog like a 16 year old can.
Also should it be fair that one kid borrows someone's superfast dog and wins the whole thing because they were lucky enough to have the best dog?

We're trying to reward those that put the most time/effort into it.

Also idea's for raffle prizes and other kid's activities would be appreciated!!


WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR RAFFLE DONATIONS!
We would like prizes for our main fundraising raffle at our May event, and also some prizes for a "Kids Only" Raffle at the Youth Event.


We would also like to gauge the interest level in this type of event, so we know what to plan for. If you might plan on attending, please post, PM or shoot me an email! Tell me how many kids, ages, and what events they would like to do!

The event will be held at the
Nor-Cal Tree Hound Assn Club Grounds
Central House Rd, Oroville/Honcut.
JUNE 7TH (SUNDAY)
Not sure about specific times, but should be an ALL DAY event!
Enteries are FREE!
Kids 17 and Under
Any breed of dog, in any of the events.
This is Non UKC, Grade dogs & any breed dog is accepted. No memberships required.

Also would be interested in donations for Participant & Winner prizes. Simple things like leashes, collars, ect. We would much rather give out things they will enjoy, than just a ribbon.

If you don't own a store or buisness, and you want to help, just buy something and send it. We'll make sure to put your name as who donated it!
