Re: COD LIVER OIL AND RED CELL
Correct cod liver oils is a rich source of vitamins and helps dog's coat and cells and is never a bad choice. Red Cell helps replace leached eletro-lytes that are lost thru dehydration and stress.
Both good as well as wheat germ oil and a bit of fat, vegetable oil or even good old snow cap lard, but not too much in hot months when dogs are idle.
We feed our dogs quality dog food and they are given Dyno- Vite suppliments with raw eggs and a shot of apple cider vinegar. Does it help them? Not sure they look pretty good but boy they get some funny expressions when they get a shot of that vinegar. LOL!

Do you think it works? I tried powdered Garlic one year for the flies but didn't notice a difference other than they stunk like Garlic

Devin,I have tried it and didnt seem to make a difference went back to flea collars and I am a firm believer in glocosime tablets for my older females real does help with thier joints I can tell just by the way they load when going hunting. Also its hard to beat brewers yeast tablets when it comes to making a hounds coat shine.

Paco is right on about ther benefits of the Apple Cider vinegar. It also helps people with digestive trouble and will lower high bood pressure, and stress and helps you sleep better.
You can also make a topical solution out of it mixed 50/50 with water and spray it on hot spots or other skin problems and it seems to help.

Re: COD LIVER OIL AND RED CELL
Thanks guy for the info. I will only feed dogfood from an organization that supports our hounds, right now I feed Purina, but I don't believe I can justify feeding the higher end of it. So I want to add to it to make it better. But now I'm confused at what to add. I get that red cell is good for after a long hunt. But what do I add to increase stamina. I get that cod liver will help the coats but I don't believe I have problem there...... This damn feed is getting expensive and the bags are getting smaller and I want to stetch my dollar....................

Mic, the best most economical source you can ad to the dogs food is an egg this really works no wise tail. Very high in protein and helps coat as well. later, Andy

Re: COD LIVER OIL AND RED CELL
Just one egg???????? I guess maybe I should start a new Post. But what is the right dog food. Everything you read about would have me spending $30- $45 for a 30-35 lb bag.......

Re: COD LIVER OIL AND RED CELL
Mic, sorry I should have made that a little clearer. Ad 1 egg to a single serving of your dogs food per dog. It really does work. later, Andy
