I'm a Benefactor member of the NRA, thats 3 levels above Life membership, so I am very pro NRA and also very pro USSA. I think these two groups do more for our gun and hunting rights then any other group. So I support them. I don't think and national hound association would ever fly because houndmen aren't the type that typically support these groups financially.

I would be willing to bet if someone did a poll on here that less then 25% are even a member of one of these groups... or even have ever heard of the USSA.

My suggestion would be to get more involved with the USSA. From what I've seen and read, they do excellent work.

I agree on the NRA and the USSA. However, I feel that a National Houndsmen Assoc.
is in our best interests. The money collected could be controlled as to only being spent on hound issues, not some spotted salamander study. I realize that houndsmen could never fund their own defense, the numbers aren't there even with 100% participation.
The anti's don't personally fund the majority of their revenue either. The majority is from large private and corporate donations.

I am new to this but I feel that there needs to be something done about our rights. I am involved with the government on a different matter and it seems that the only way to get anything done is to call your Representative a couple times a week without fail. And even then about 5% of what you ask will ever get done. And it does'nt help our cause when people can see pics of harvested animals or dogs baying a caged coon or any caged animal for that matter. Anyway I am for a NHA but we have to start with local reps if anything is going to get done.

I dont know how to start a poll on here put if someone does can you please we need to know the numbers of support we would have here for the NHA. Also you are right the money would have to come from corporate donations. But after all look at all the telemetry, dog box, dog food and many more companies that would fold if we couldn't run dogs.

Here's a poll for you. Let me know if you need the questions changed.
