Dogs First Bear Alone (Video)

Post by BuckNAze »

This is my walker/blueticks and my Cameron Bluetick. The Walker/Bluetick has only seen a bear treed and hasnt actually been on one. This is his first bear that he has been on. He got his butthole scratched up pretty good, didnt get it on film, he stuck in there decently. He has only been on bear and has only seen a caged coon before this. So he did pretty good considering. Wish he would open up more is all, good pack dog though. The other dog is my Cameron, she does pretty good. This is her 2nd bear, 3rd that she's seen, one ran across the road in front of us while hunting and all the dogs went crazy and it treed but she got to bark around on that one a little bit. This bear just would not tree! She just stood her ground on the base of the tree of her cubs. Eventually called my dogs off after a few minutes and walked out. Wish I could of got better footage but I did the best I could alone. Just a proud dad I suppose. Also there might be some bad language, not sure....thanks for watching:

Thanks, had a lot of help from my buddy that has hounds. Just learning how to teach em. Gonna get some pups soon so I can get some more dogs started after 8-9 months or so.

Yeah sorry I couldnt keep that damn camera steady so you could see more of it. Trying to make sure I had my gun loaded just in case. I got within 20yds, probably shouldnt of but wanted to get some decent footage. She had cubs so I had no intention of shooting her, just with the camera, haha. She was a mean ol sow, wouldnt leave the bottom of the trees her cubs were in. I wish she would of just treed so I could have my dogs treeing on her. I called them off of her after about 3 mins of total action. They did pretty good for just starting out I think. Im proud of em. Going coon hunting tonight!

Hey Thanks! Yeah hopefully they can only go up from here! They are showing improvement. That Cameron female I got I think she will be able to hunt all four, bobcat, lion, bear and coon. She is pretty good for being 5 years old. Still got some learning to do but once I get her out on her own more like I have been she can only get better. I couldnt see the picture of that you had on your post but Ill make sure to check it out once I get home, this computer wont show it.
