Helloooo From Sunny Nor. Cal

Postby YSHBHounds » Thu May 21, 2009 10:13 pm

Husband/Wife "team" if you call it lol

Just got our first hound a few months ago.. trying to get into the "swing" of things... Friends of ours hunt with the hounds, and we enjoyed tagging along, being part of the action...

Here to meet people close to the area, get advice where its DESPERATELY needed and maybe make a few buddies while we're at it.....

We live around the Marysville area...so I guess more "North Central". My wife grew up in Cottonwood the first half of her life, so she's pretty familiar with Red Bluff, etc.

Thanks Tony! That would be great...we definitely need to get our dog more socialized with other dogs, and what to do. Right now hes in the "why are we barking!?" when the other dogs are treeing a skin, he doesn't quite get it..but has proven he can keep up.... We're attempting to cage a coon, to strike that interest(Crossing fingures!) and see if we cant turn the light on.

Here's a pic of him(2mon ago)... The people we got him from said he's a Redbone/Bluetick cross...Dad was a Blue mom was a Red...He's a moose..We've trimmed him down a bit..

Hahaha... I'd have a Walker Dog if you'd pass ol' Big Roy down. Just kidding..
We'll try out ol' Mackey Boy and see how it goes, who knows, he might just be a good pet lol!

It was cool to see you this weekend though.. Definitely need to go to those more often.
Maybe get Jake rattled to get another dog (Trying to catch up to Cassandra).

Yeah, you surely don't need to catch up to me! 4 dogs is at least one or two too many. The worst thing a new person can do, is collect dogs. If you hadn't of gotten Mack, I probably would have given you Roy, but then again, I like him, he's deffinately a good pet. He's got a home here, even if I don't hunt him.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do this weekend. Will most likely go hunting at least one night. You'll have to bring Mack back up at some point.

There is one more UKC event there on June 13 I believe. After that it's sit and wiat for bear season. I know you guys are getting your liscense and tags. :joker

Meeting @ Pizza Round-Up is tomorrow night, you guys coming?

You all should come out to the Kids Event, and BS and brng Mack for some Socializeation. At least let him hang out and see what being a hound dog is all about. Eventually he might not get so crazy when he hears other dogs bark... If he gets sick of hearing them bark all day! LOL

I wont be able to make it to the Kids event this weekend. (I'll try though)...but will definitely be at the UKC on the 13th.

How about that thunder storm we had huh?

No luck on gettin' a coon either. Keep tryin, but so far nothing...any suggestions?

There is no Kids event, cancelled. Zero interest. So I'll be out with the dogs. Think there might even be a PPV fight on this weekend.

I will be at the UKC event on the 13th as well. I will only be doing the NH and apprenticing the show.

Don't know what to tell ya about a coon. Maybe just take the dog out there, might have better luck! LOL. My thoughts are wandering further from coon hunting, and after the hunt on the 13th, I'd say that'll be the last time I go to the coon woods again until after bear season closes. So that'll be in 2010, LOL.

Later.
