New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
I got a pup tonight....the misses wasnt too happy about it, kind of sprung it on here. Here he is, he's got HUGE ears, better in person I suppose and huge feet. He's been using his nose really well since I got home, wish the wife would quit trying to baby him so much already. He's got all the traits to become a good dog it seems, just needs lots and lots of training! Im excited, here he is:

Re: New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
He's not registered or anything, he is from a Redtick female and a walker male dog. Not sure what the females name is but the male is a pretty damn good dog. His name is Bearclaw. He will strike a bear off the box, run lions, bobcats, coons. He does it all. He's not the best dog yet but he's coming around to be an awesome dog, still young. This is one of his pups. The guy who owned him named him Moose and I decided to keep it that way, he is already pretty much learned his name. Ive been trying to do little meat drags in the house to get him to use his nose a lot more. He is already using it pretty good. He has some of the biggest ears and feet Ive seen on a pup. His feet are as big or bigger then my Cameron females already and he is 3 months old. And thanks for the compliment!

Thats a dandy pup, we'll see if they turn out i have one of the bluetick looking pups out of that litter. It will be interesting if bearclaw can put out the pups that Raven did. I've seen alot of dogs in my time and at his age bearclaw could easily become a really good. That litter raven sired was like no other litter i have ever seen, only one pup was a cull and the rest were special dogs to bad only two are still alive. That pup of jordans i hear is doing pretty good.

Which pup is that? Also where are you from? Yeah we'll see how the dogs do. My dog was just out front, i let him run around and explore, use his nose and what not. Had a coon hide out and he is pretty damn good with it. He ate part of the hide.....
He doesnt have too many red ticks on him but where he does they are mainly on his legs. What did you end up naming your dog?

Also at this age (3 months) is it pretty good if they'll bark on a house cat?

Re: New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
I have seen a few Walkers that looked just like that. I thought he might be one of them. Really good looking pup keep us up to date on him. I have seen more cross dogs that I would love to own then any papered dog. For me the papers dont do me much good just take up room in the safe.

Yeah I dont mind if they arent papered at all. Papers dont hunt! Im going to be getting some Cameron pups here pretty soon, well they wont be hitting the ground and ready for like 6 months but Ill be getting some. He does look a lot like a walker but has a little bit of the redticks showing. He has long long ears and huge feet. Ill keep you updated. We all hope they will tree their own coon at 5 or 6 months dont we! Hopefully Ill be posting that, hahaha.

Re: New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
Oh yeah Ill let you know. He shows potential. His dad is a damn good dog (bearclaw), he is a young dog, he's a strike dog on bear, runs lions, bobcats, coons, his dad apparently was an awesome dog. The mom is an alright bear dog and dont know what else she gets ran on but her mom was an outstanding lion dog I guess. Ive personally only seen Bearclaw and he's a good dog. I have big expectations but dont want to get my hopes up super high, ya never know what can happen or a dog just might not turn out, who knows. I have a lot of good buddies that have a ton of experience with hounds and will help me train this pup right.

Re: New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
i was born and raised in Inch, Peach and I have done our fair share of hunting in the last 15 years. The females name is Lucy pretty solid dog just haven't got hunted as much as bearclaw. I'm glad to see some more people hunting them bears with hounds back there. I named my pup Ruger he seems to be a good acting pup, this weekend he rode the four wheeler and struck with the big dogs, he just likes to bark and decided if the big dogs could do it so could he..

Re: New Pup! And my Cameron and Walker/Bluetick Dogs
Sounds like he's going to be a good one. Mine rode in the truck all day, napped. When we ran the first bear he ran all the way to the tree with us, made it all the way. Smelt the bear, got a good nose on him it seems. Always has it to the ground. HUGE feet! They are bigger then my full grown females already, does yours have big feet or not? Ive only hunted with Eddie once or twice or at least he has been there. He has some pretty good dogs. Knows 1000x more then I do, im just getting into it and Jordan has helped me a lot. Eager for the pups to get older
