Has anyone had any experience with this system. I am currently bidding on one and just curious about it. I have used the Wildlife Materials 1000 before but can't seem to find any information about the DTR-6. Just wondering if it tracks the same as the 1000 or if it is a specific frequency?
Thanks

the one I had was good for just one mile, hung on a lite pole and measured down the road with no obstruction. Lost two hounds for 5 days in B.C. because of it. bignblu

They track just fine, however it don't have the functions of the 1000, its specific meaning you can only track 6 collars, within a specific freq. range

The trx6 is lots handier because the antenna is made onto the small tracker unit. It's not nearly as powerful as the 1000. It's o.k. around a mile or so but if you are on a long bear chase you'll have to drag out the 1000. It's no better about directional than the 1000 either. I have never been impressed on the wildlife on direction. A lot of bouncing off hills. It will work if you got nothing else. gotta git. Hillbilly
