new mexico bears

hello any new mexico hunters around going out when the 09 season starts? I would like to find someone i could go along with & run one of my coon hounds in the pack. dont have to see a bear harvested would be happy seeing one in a tree. nm is the closest for me to drive. thanks

I plan on doing some bear hunting, but I am by no means a pro, I have 2 solid cat dogs, and 1 of them used to run bear, I plan on putting them out in Aug. I also have a good young B.tick female that is currently ill, not sure she will live to see the season. if she does, she is my 2nd experience bear dog. But if you want to come hunt, lets talk. I have been through New Mexico a few times and the only area I saw that looked like bear country is up in the Chama Valley. Is there any other areas to go in the state?

theres alot of places, from the very north to the very south of NM. Anywhere theres national forest you will find bears.

thanks for the reply i will be in touch soon. right now i have a 1 1/2 yr old red bone & a 3 yr old walker. im hoping they will join in & not turn & run when the going gets tuf.
