Ill be putting my deposit down here pretty soon. I talked to him on the phone and he seems like a very humble nice guy. He wasnt trying to sell me a sales pitch or anything just telling me what his dogs were like and swapping some hunting stores, etc.

I Know Jim very well. I've hunted with him quite alot. I own two dog's that i bought from him and am nothing but pleased with them. One thing is for sure Jim is as honest as they come. He is not a dog jockey and is very concerned about making sure that the right people get his dog's. Those people being the one's that are going to hunt and finish his pups into the fine hound's that they have the genetics to be. He's a good man with good dog's. Casey

Thanks alot for the replies. I talked with him yesterday about pups and I got the same impression. No B.S. and a pleasant man to talk with.
What is the mature size of these dogs on average? I'm looking for a male pup to hunt and maybe breed a couple females in the future.

Jim's males are ranging from 65 to 90lbs, depending on the cross, and the females seem to be about 55 to 70 lbs. I have a year old male that is probably at 75 pounds. That is a lean hunting weight weight on a yearling so he'll probably get a little heavier. They are a long legged fast moving type of dog though, not the wide boddied block headed type. You should be real happy with the pup if you get one. What type of hunting do you do?

I spend most of my time with the feline addiction of lion, but also a few bobcat. I chase a few coon this time of year but not much. Would be most interested in the smaller lighter weight dog. Had a couple of Cameron females in the past that were medium build and liked them.

I got a pup from Jim that is almost 7 months old now, very pleased. early starting dog. He is already striking off an ATV trailing treeing and staying at tree all by himself. (by using scent drag trail) Mike Leonard's method (thanks by the way Mike) Great dog will get another.

Thanks everybody for the info. And thanks Doogie! We'll talk about those leopards again sometime. I just have a hard time getting away from those blue hounds.

My lead dog came from Jim she is four years old and a well rounded dog. I am getting another pup from him out of his next litter. Everyone I have ever talked with about Jim's dogs has only had good things to say about dealing with him and his dogs
