Re: Beagle Q?
I have a 1/4 walker beagle mix. She hunts fox which run similar to a bobcat(correct me if I'm wrong.) and coon but she doesnt tree well, and she is very hot nosed so imagine she wouldnt be a very good bobcat or lion dog. (again correct me if im wrong) all in all she is a good dog.
Hike in, tie em back, hike out.

Re: Beagle Q?
Bearhntwi- how does your beagle run a red fox? mine tends to run them very tight and she realy smokes those tracks but my problem is, they always hole up.

Re: Beagle Q?
It depends on how much snow we have,he's a 13" so when the snow piles up he has a hard time but early in the season he does great,he pushes hard enough to keep em movin but not fast enough to hole em up right away.

Whole lot of fun freecasting these litle buggers hunting like this!!
- You never know what you are going to get...., or mine prefers deer, so thats what he mostly run.
I always said that a hound with a beagles heart and a bit longer leggs would shure put some hurt on bigger game... If allowed, these bundles of joy just run till they drop dead.
How are you doing Beaglewalkerhunter4? Holing up 'ey? Keep those terriers in mind.....

Re: Beagle Q?
Hans I'm doin well, here in NJ, the brush is realy thick here and them fox have no escape when they get run into the thick brairs bandit will crawl on her stomac and bay them real good. this is pretty unusual from what i here from other fox hounders,in my area lol. About the terriers, a buddy of mine just got a 10 week old fox terreir. this will be perfect because they realy hole up quick. happy huntin to ya.
