Hello..
I'm from rocky Norway here in Scandinavien, my english is not so good, but I hope you understand me.. Well, my biggest interest over here is hunting Lynx cats. I have two East-siberian Laika, and we use them and my mates Plottdogs when we hunt cats.
Our mane persuit, is to catch big male cats.
Here you can see some pictures from some of the cats we have catched the last years for my end my mates dogs.
I hope to get some contact on this forum who can help me import some dogs over here.
I have read some of the discussions on this forum, and the Treeing Walker, seem to be the perfect dog for my type of lynxhunting, who usually take place in rough terrain.
In my main, the perfect lynx dog is a fast, atletic, and smart dog(he have to understand to go around a mountain, if the cat has climbed), and have to be a silent trailer befor he has jumped the cat..
I hope someone here can help me in finding the perfect dog. And maybe this forum is the right place to get some contacts, if I want to come over and see how you hunt cats..
Best regards, Fredrik Gammelsrud

Hello Guys,
Come Hunt with Dad and I anytime you can come over! We would love to have you over!
Having invited you all, you will want to make a hunt with someone like Spruce Mountain from Maine as he hunts more as you all do. There are some good Hunters in Wisconsin, Michigan, and some of the Western States as well. Spruce Mountain has a website that you will see on other Posts in the Bobcat Section or check his profile.
Be sure and try to find Cat type Treeing Walkers as there are some lines that have been bred for competitive Coon Hunting and are not the kind of Hounds you would probably need for what you want.
A good resource would be Al Luttell in Oregon. Al has a line of Cat Hounds that have been bred for this purpose alone for many generations and are good Tree dogs!
Again come see us in Arkansas or Florida and we will introduce you to the Southern "Bobcat Hounddog Opry"!
Good Runing to All!

Welcome Fredrik. This weekend I have a couple of your country men visiting so I took them out to run some bears. It seems like they had a great time. Enjoy the site.

Hello,
and thanks for the warm welcoming!
I´m looking forward to spend more time in here.
SECOND NATURE: An average lynx male weights about 46-55 lbs. The biggest we have shot is 58 lbs, but I even heard about weights on 77-78 lbs.
Were we hunt the lynx grow up extremly fast, we shot several male cats in the 50 lbs class, who are only 1,5 years old.
spruce mountain: I don´t know much about the condition in Main, but yes, it´s mostly rough terrain were we hunt in Norway.
Here you can se some of the terrain we are hunting.
Best regards,
Fredrik

Re: Cathunter from Norway
Do you tree most of these cats or do you get them on the ground? The snow conditions look about the same as ours. Our terain that we cat hunt in isn't as ruff as some of those video's but were you caught the cats looks just like were we would catch cats here.I have a video of a cat hunt here that I will try to get on here if I can figure out how.
